Poster competition

Back to Safe Routes projects in Hackney

See all images from the poster competition

This project was a competition to design posters to promote safe routes and alternative forms of transport. The project was co-ordinated by a group of GCSE Business Studies students with the help of: a Marketing & Media Consultant, Sainsbury's (who are providing bikes as prizes) and sponsorship from advertising providers. The competition was launched with the help of Kulvinder Ghir (BBC 2's "Goodness Gracious Me") in November 2001.

The GCSE Business students have now finished the judging and have worked with a graphic designer to enhance the posters for display. The original artwork, the posters themselves and then the posters in situ outdoors can be seen on our poster competition gallery page. Notice how the artwork was manipulated to produce high quality compelling posters. Here are a couple of examples of their excellent work:

The launch was held on the 15th of December with Meg Hillier from the Greater London Authority.
