From Woodberry Down to Stoke Newington School

Back to Safe Route Projects in Hackney
We are currently working with the youth of Woodberry Down Estate to photograph problems on the route between the estate and Stoke Newington School. Some of them also drew their routes to school and highlighted problem areas.

As a result of  the work carried out with your year 5 groups prior to Christmas the junction between Woodberry Grove and Seven Sisters road is being considered for improvement by Transport for London as part of the London Bus Initiative. It is also likely that they will fund these improvements.

Due to shelving of the councils Home Zones Programme for 2000/2001, we have moved funds to an exciting new project on Daubeney Green.

A path running across the green will be renovated and it is hoped that a new one can be built to increase access , enabling children to walk across the park to Daubeney or Kingsmead schools rather than around it.

Further details of this project, which is currently under consultation, will be posted when available.
